Striking free-form shapes and luxuriously vibrant finishes radiate energy in the lacquer sculpture collection. inspired by an Asian aesthetic and world travel, leading Vietnamese designers Nguyen Lien Phuong and Bui The Hoang of LP Design have developed their own uniquely fluid style. From vases and bowls - sealed so they can hold water - to large scale sculptures, these original pieces draw inspiration from Vietnam's long tradition of lacquerware and then give it a modern twist. As a result, each piece of this striking - and strikingly affordable - collection makes its own stirring statement.
Through a technique innovated by the lead designers, these fiber wood creations are pressed into molds first crated form clay and then cast in steel. The talented artisans then apply layers of lacquer in combination with decorative materials, including silver leaf, gemstones and mother of pearl, to create multihued finishes certain to catch and hold the eye. |
